Kinetograph renders Remotion and HyperFrames projects without a browser

Kinetograph is a beta (v0.3.0) code-to-video engine that runs your TSX in Node and draws each frame with a Rust GPU compositor instead of headless Chrome. Per its creator, existing Remotion projects and HyperFrames HTML pages render as they are.

How it works, per the README. You write a video with Remotion-style imports (mapped to Kinetograph's own implementation) or as a plain HTML page. CSS, SVG, Canvas 2D, WebGL shaders, 3D and Web Audio all go through the same native compositor. `npx kinetograph init` starts a TSX project and `init --html` starts an HTML/HyperFrames one. Prebuilt packages cover Apple Silicon Macs, Linux x64 and Windows x64 on Node 22+.

Agent side. There's a CLI and an MCP server for rendering, exporting stills and inspecting frames, plus a local editor with a shot-and-audio timeline. In the editor you can select layers and send their source locations and a picture to a coding agent, and edits wait for your approval.

The catch is the licence. It's public on GitHub under the PolyForm Small Business License 1.0.0, not an open-source licence: free use has eligibility limits and larger companies need a commercial licence. It's also beta, so APIs may change and some Remotion features may be missing.

Our take: if Chrome is the slow or flaky part of your Remotion or HyperFrames renders, this is worth a side-by-side on one existing project. Check whether your studio qualifies for the small-business licence before you build client work on it. Found via @DanKornas; the repo had about 460 stars on Nov 4.
