HyperFrames this week: storyboard boards, an audio command, beats without Chrome
Five releases in about a day, and they all push agents toward the same habits the best creators use: stills before motion, and cuts measured against real audio.
We covered HyperFrames itself earlier (linked below). This is just the delta from Oct 14–15, which matters for anyone running it through an agent.
Storyboards are now one board of stills (v0.8.158). Agents pose each shot, snapshot it, and lay the stills out on a single page, boards/storyboard.html, before animating anything. HyperFrames Studio shows the same idea in the UI: your idea comes back as still frames in sections so you can iterate on the design first. Their post calls it 'no more one-shot slop'. v0.8.159 adds snapshot --keep, which redoes one still without wiping the others and names each file by its time (e.g. at-1.5s.png).
There's a new audio command, hyperframes audio (v0.8.160). It measures onsets, peaks, pauses and loudness, and project queries report times in film time, accounting for clip trims and playback rates. For agents, this is the missing step between 'here's a track' and 'cut on the hit'.
Beats no longer need Chrome. In v0.8.161, hyperframes beats uses a TypeScript beat tracker with FFmpeg decoding instead of launching a browser, and Studio shares the same tracker. If the audio is low-confidence, it returns no beat grid rather than a wrong one, which is the right default.
Smaller fixes for agents: init --keep-original brings a clip in without transcoding, and check and snapshot now work in sandboxes that refuse to listen on localhost. That second one helps if you run agents in containers. The repo had about 64.3K stars on Oct 15. We haven't tested these releases yet.
